will make things much easier for me as it will be templated

This will free up a ton of server space on my end and will stop

the May 18th show at Little Italian. Also, I am setting up a

New pictures will be up from
the May 18th show very soon (thanks Nikki!), so check back for
those babies. Also, I have come to the quick realization that
Tripod is worse than eating a bad burritto late at night, so
I'm in the process of shopping for a new place to host the site.
It is possible that the move might also bring a new site design.
We'll decide on that later, though. |

I moved the MP3's back to this
server. I guess Tripod found out that I was hosting the songs
on a seperate site and they didn't like it too much. So the
MP3's are ready to download again. Sorry to anyone who had trouble
the past few days. |

I moved the MP3's to a different
server today, so hopefully the bandwidth limit that the site
was experiencing the past couple weeks will not be a problem
anymore. I'll keep an eye on it to see what happens. Happy MP3-ing! |

Well, we finished recording
and the MP3's are up. Overall, we aren't too thrilled with the
product, so we are probably going back to the studio and will
re-record all 6 songs. Whether or not this version of the CD
will be released is still undecided. We'll let you know, though. |

We just finished recording
vocals and leads on the 12th, so all we have left to do is mix
everything down. The plan is to be back in the studio on April
6th to get the final mix and burn a master copy. We'll be able
to burn copies and put up MP3's that weekend, so keep an eye
out for that. We'll also be sending it out to a few labels,
so we'll see what happens with that. Did someone say record
release show? Ahh yes. |

Well well, the recording has
started! I know we've been saying it since October, but we really
did begin the process, finally. From 10:00 until 1:00 last night
at Record Row Studios in Chicago, we laid down the instrument
tracks for all 6 songs: Come Back To Me, I Don't Wanna Fall
In Love, Upside Down, Set Your Clock Back, I Hate You, Sick
Of Me. What we have left to do is overdub the solos, record
vocals, and mix it down. This should all be done within a month
or so, so please bear with us.
The raw tracks we listened to last night sounded amazing, so
the final mix will only be better. We will have these babies
on sale for a few bucks as soon as we finish them. Also, I will
be putting them up in MP3 and RealAudio format to download for
free from our site. Kick ass. |

Alright folks, what a riot the last couple of shows have
been. The Little Italian show got a little out of control
and we ended up having a broken mic stand and Pat getting
knocked in the teeth with the mic. The other bands were great
though, so I hope everyone still had fun.
As for the BTO show, well well, no sound guy, random kids
telling us we have to play without a PA and we only get a
10 minute set kind of hindered the fun. Nonetheless, once
the show started and we got going, it was a blast. We've got
to send our thanks out to Summers End for setting it up.
As with each new show....we have new pictures!

Wowee, one more lineup change
for us. Hopefully this will be the last one. Our newest member
is Al, and he's going to be playing bass for us. He probably
won't be on the upcoming recording, but he will definetly be
playing our next show, whenever that is. |

We are not going to play that show on the 20th
now. We are going to fully concentrate on recording, then start
booking shows again. Hopefully we will wrap that up within a

The benefit show at Little Italian Pizza and
Pub on September 22nd was a great success. We raised $112.60
for the Mayor Daley/Bank One "Chicago Remebers"
Fund. This money is directly donated to the Red Cross to
help the victims of the tragedy that occured on September 11th
in New York and Washington. Thank you so much to Little Italian
Pizza for hosting the show, Wack Trucks for coming down from
Michigan to play, and everyone who came and contributed. |

accepting donations there. Also, door money will be combined
with donations and given to the Chicago Remembers Fund, sponsored
by Bank One and Mayor Daley. This money goes to the Red Cross,

suffered on September 11, 2001. Our hearts go out to everyone

We have our first show
booked! Come on out to Lee St. Billiards on Sunday, August 26th
and check it out. It is 3 bands and unlimited pool for just
$6. You can't beat that. Also, we should be in the recording
studio pretty soon and the demo that comes out of that is going
to BMG music. |

First of all, we are now accepting credit card
orders through PayPal. This
means you can order all kinds of fun stuff and not have to worry
about sending a check or waiting for a show. Right now, all
we have are comps to sell, but there will be new things showing
up soon. Also, there was another change in the band line-up.
We ended up going back to a 3 piece for a bit, but then found
that we had a solid sound with our new man Eric. Hopefully this
is the last switch we make. The other thing I wanted to get
to was the new page format. I've got nothing but positive responses,
so we're going to keep this layout. Thanks to everyone who commented. |

finally found someone to sing and play guitar for us. Welcome
the newest member of the Backdowns, Mike! We're putting some
finishing touches on songs and will have shows booked in June.
