The Backdowns formed in April of 2001 after the breakup of The Ingrates. After the 4 year history, including close to 100 shows, 12 different band members, 1 album, 1 failed 7" and 1 failed tour, Nick (Drums), Pat (Guitar), and Jenny (Bass) decided to start a new band continuing the style of The Ingrates. We play aggressive pop punk, heavily influenced by Screeching Weasel, Huntingtons and Teen Idols.

After some switching, we finally think we found the sound we're looking for. We added Eric on lead/not-so-lead guitar, making the band a 4 piece again. Another switch soon followed in the fall of 2001, losing Jenny and picking up Al on bass. We worked out all the kinks and have a solid sound going.
